Ward Choir!

Dear BYUI 67th Ward members,
If you are interested in singing in the ward choir, we'll be singing, "Be Still My Soul" in Sacrament Meeting on February 20th. We will be holding a practice for that musical number THIS Saturday, Feb. 12th at our church in the South Chapel 1:30 P.M. We will have the Ward babysitters to watch your little ones; it will be a blast, so please come and join us!
Sincerely,
Billy Beard, Ward Choir Director

Home Teaching

Brethren,

Here are the updated home teaching routes. We may need to do a little more tweaking once we get the information for all of the new families, but for the most part these routes should be pretty close.

On the attached document, find the box with your name in the upper-left corner. This box will tell you your companion, the families you home teach, and who home teaches you. If you have any questions, feel free to give me a call.

Brethren, I encourage you to prayerfully consider your responsibility as a home teacher. As you consider this responsibility, ponder on these two prophetic statements; one from a Book of Mormon prophet, and one from a modern-day prophet:

"And we did magnify our office unto the Lord, taking upon us the responsibility, answering the sins of the people upon our own heads if we did not teach them the word of God with all diligence; wherefore, by laboring with our might their blood might not come upon our garments; otherwise their blood would come upon our garments, and we would not be found spotless at the last day. "

- Jacob 1:19

"Brethren, home teaching is not just another program. It is the priesthood way of watching over the Saints and accomplishing the mission of the Church. Home teaching is not just an assignment. It is a sacred calling... Oh, that all the brethren of the Church would catch that vision of home teaching!"

-Ezra Taft Benson

Let us arise and be men! and do what the Lord expects of us. Let us serve His children in His way. I promise as you do so you will find great joy in your service and power in your priesthood.

Love,

President Haws

Childcare opportunity

If you need some part-time work, there is a childcare job open for off-track sisters that don't have children and have reliable transportation. The job is caring for 4 children in Rigby, at intermittent 8 hour shifts while their mom works. Contact Rebeckah Orton for further details or to set up an interview. Call if you are off track or will be next semester.

RS Temple Day

Come to the temple this Saturday for a 6am session as a Relief Society! Your husbands are welcome to come, but the idea is that every RS sister is present and fasting or praying for another sister in the ward. This fulfills a monthly goal for both an act of service and for temple attendance. If you need a ride, please contact Rebeckah Orton.
If you don't know how to contact members of the ward, you need to log on to the lds.org website under "ward and stake websites" and make yourself a username and password. You can find a directory there.
Please be early, because the sessions fill up fast and we want everyone to be able to go together.

RS Activity Tonight 1/20

Bring a sample of your favorite dish and the recipe to the Recipe Swap tonight at 7 at the church. Even if you don't have a dish, come and try the other ones. Call Jessica Phelps or Kayleigh Ferrell for any additional details.

Furniture Needed

If you have extra furniture, please call Bishop Kohler 208-569-0536. There are some families that need something to sit on, eat at, etc. It's fine if you just want to loan something too.

Public Dance Classes

There are a series of adult dance classes offered in the community Monday and Saturday nights. Monday night at 8 is a hip hop class (co-ed) and Saturday at noon is a ballet class (girls only, I think). The cost is $15 a month (no matter how many classes you take). If interested call Glenda at 208-716-0041. If you just need a ride, call Rebeckah 509-539-3985. Rides are free.
